MHD Announcement: Licensing Education Class and Testing Update

In our effort to promote consistent, accurate and fair testing, the Manufactured Housing Division has partnered with PSI Testing to administer all state licensing exams for the Division. Effective November 12, 2024, all potential or provisional new licensees will be required to register and schedule their exam(s) with PSI Testing upon completion of their Licensing Education Class (LEC). Instructions regarding testing registration will be given after completing the LEC course. The exams will remain open book.

Although the fees for the LEC will remain the same, PSI Testing charges $85 for each Core exam attempt, $70 for each Retailer exam attempt, and $70 for each Installer exam attempt. Exams can be taken in person at one of 500 nation-wide PSI exam locations, or online with a live proctor.

Examinees will receive a pass/fail score report at the completion of their exam, which will be sent to the Manufactured Housing Division by PSI Testing. Examinees who do not pass an exam may schedule up to 3 total attempts at the exam, however PSI Testing will charge a new testing fee for each additional attempt. If an Examinee does not pass an exam after three attempts, they must retake the entire LEC course, including a new LEC fee, before attempting another exam.
